“Wow! a mole trap that really works. I’ve been plagued with moles ruining my lawns for years and found the traditional pincer traps difficult to set as the runs are quite deep, so the top of the traps are below ground level, usually I ended up with the traps just being filled with soil by the very sensitive mole! which was frustrating. I ordered 2 of your beagle traps last Friday and Saturday morning to my delight caught the mole, they are very easy to set and because the killing spring is slightly submerged in the soil below the run the moles don’t sense they are there. “I moved to France 8 years ago and live near a small town in Normandy called Doudeville. For all of that time we have been plagued with moles. It has been impossible to cultivate a decent “lawn” we have lumpy grass. As a consequence I have a damaged lawnmower and a wife with a twisted ankle. I recently discovered, on line, the Easy Set Mole Trap and in desperation I purchase 3. After watching the online video and speaking to the inventor David Rolfe, I set about placing the traps. I was delighted to catch two within 24 hours but even more so when the following day I caught two more. A neighbour was inundated with them, At one stage I counted 60 molehills in his garden of 3000 square metres. I showed him the traps and said that I would lay one for him so he could see how effective they are. I returned home with fingers crossed. No need, because within two hours he came round smiling to say that he had caught one. They do work. I would advise getting the probe as well, as it helps locate the runs, which is key to setting them correctly. “Managed to catch Mr Mole. Poor thing, but he was making a massive mess of my lawn. As always the main thing is to set the trap correctly which is a bit of a skill in itself. You also have to be a bit careful that not too much much gets in the mechanism or it can get a bit sticky. So tips – Use a sharp thin implement to find the tunnel between two mole hills. Dig down ( some say with a trowel – I prefer a spade) till you find both ends of the tunnel. push down on the earth so it is firm and the mole is not able to dig under the trap. Place the trap in, then weigh either side of the plunger down with stone, bits of crockery. use bits of turf to block out the light. Actually I have some felt which I use as well so not too much earth gets in. Then wait. To increase your chances you really need more than one trap.”Alex A, UK, 17 March 2015

“Had a lot of little visitors causing mayhem in the garden. Time for action so shopped around for a mole trap. Lots to read about including videos on social media. I chose this one because it is well made so will last a long time and is British. The way you use this trap is better compared with other traps I considered because of the way you position it in a mole run. The trap worked and now my garden is free of mole hills. The key to caching moles is to spend an amount of time studying which runs they use. “I got this a few months ago and at first had no success with my mole problem and gave up and considered professional advice. I had a blighter who kept back filling the tunnels. However, after refining my technique I have killed 5 in the last month or two and have had less times when it’s gone off without getting the mole. I advise you use a spade as wide as the trap itself and fit it tightly. I just use a screwdriver or wire to feel for the tunnels. The trap works well, it’s just the placement technique that needs to be equally as good and keep persisting.

“Utilizing your excellent Beagle Mole Trap purchased last year I have successfully trapped 7 moles. Whilst they are dear little animals they sadly make such a mess. Rather than find the run I simply remove the soil from the mole hill to reveal the run underneath. After placing the set Beagle Mole trap next to the mole run I cover the trap. The Beagle product is so easy to use with the advantage of a wider entry into the trap before the mole hits the release mechanism. “When I read the instructions which said ” set the trap as per instruction , return in 24 hours and remove the mole” I Gave a wry smile, it could not possibly be so simple ? I gave an even bigger smile when I returned after 24 hours to see the trap had worked perfectly as described. The traps are well designed and much easier to set than the old fashioned finger amputation type that I have had before.
